A very simple and easy way to prepare asparagus, bringing out the natural flavor without killing it…
1/2 teaspoon Anise Seeds – really ground up
1 lb. asparagus
1 T good olive oil
Cut asparagus diagonally into 2 inch pieces. Use a shallow baking pan and toss everything around, add some salt and pepper. Once it’s all pretty evenly coated put it in a 450 degree oven for about 8 minutes. Don’t kill it, it wants to be a little crunchy and flavorful.
Even people who swear they don’t like asparagus like this.
